Using Hypnotherapy to Lose Weight

hypnotherapy to lose weightAlternative treatments to medical conditions are being sought more and more these days. In our society today being overweight isn’t just common, it now effects over 60% of people.

There is a host of diets that are advertised on the web and in the media and some stretch the truth about how to lose weight and appetite suppression. There are always lots of claims without much substance.

Numerous clients who opt for therapies, like hypnotherapy to lose weight, have normally tried many different diets and sadly failed.

Hypnotherapy looks to make changes within the subconscious mind, which can make a substantial difference to the way we relate food and weight.

Hypnotherapy aims to care for the whole person on a physical and mental level so that their overeating can be understood and then altered. One of the top things in the list would be their current habits towards food and how they relate to it.

Hypnotherapy solutions tend to focus on behavioural change in place of what is allowed or not allowed. Most diets, if not all, do not consider many of these really important factors which all need to be addressed for weight control to be beneficial and maintained successfully.

What diets don’t frequently tell you is that the body reduces metabolism, so you need much less calories in order to maintain weight loss, this suppression can last from anything up to 6 years and the hormones that change within the body as a result of dieting make it ever harder to get slimmer and keep it off.

Using hypnotherapy to lose weight  helps individuals that are obese or over weight as it understands the person on many levels and gains an awareness of the relationship their mind has with food. By utilizing hypnotherapy approaches a person’s mind set towards food can be improved. This can include reducing hunger, altering how we think about food, improving the diet and a lot more, yet without the constant battle that most diets more often than not create. To sum up using hypnotherapy can tackle the problems connected with dieting as well as keeping the motivation high and helping to change the behaviours around food.

Lyta Humphris from Hypnosis Devon based in Plymouth, explained why in her view hypnotherapy to lose weight is extremely effective in alleviating inappropriate behaviours and thoughts around food. She said,

It is important to find out why we over-eat – stress, comfort, being alone, not eating the right food, too many starchy foods – so we can work on the problem and change the subconscious part of you that is responsible. If chocolate, for example, is your weakness, I might, possibly associate chocolate with nausea so that thinking of chocolate makes you feel nauseous.

By using hypnotherapy to lose weight I take on the heavy lifting and leave you to live your life in a calm and natural way.
