EXCESSIVE DRINKING

What exactly defines ‘binge drinking’?

It might shock you to know that you qualify as a binge drinker as soon as you reach for that third glass of wine. The National Health Service declares that binge drinking is when you drink a substantial amount of alcohol (anything over two large glasses of wine) in a short period of time.

If you feel you are drinking too heavily,  a hypnotherapist can help assist you to  reduce your alcohol intake or cut it out completely if that’s what you want to accomplish, but they should never judge you or label you. If you want to formulate the mental strength to replace your booze with soft drinks or decline extra rounds, a hypnotic approach could enable you to.

Consider some of the benefits of drinking less?

If you have found yourself being concerned about the quantity you drink, you may be ready to seek help. It is also worth trying to get help or advice if you have already recognised yourself as a binge drinker and suspect you could, or should start to cut down.

Quite a few people find themselves spending a lot of their hard earned money on a weekend drinking session when that money could be saved towards a vacation or other treats. You simply have to cut a few drinks out of the equation to add up the amount that you could save over a year. There are 52 weeks in the year, if you go out every weekend and cut out 3 drinks at £3.50 a time you save about £546 for that year.

There is, naturally, the health consideration. We all know the negative aspects, but when faced with the reality for our own body it can be a significant wake up call. It’s also worth considering your binge drinking on a day to day basis. It’s sometimes only when we cut down that we grasp just how much time we used to spend with a hangover!

It isn’t something to beat yourself up over; it’s a thing to congratulate yourself on because you are thinking about making a positive change. A hypnotic approach for binge drinking is available to provide help to make the change most helpful to you and your lifestyle – cutting out alcohol altogether, replacing some drinks with some other non-alcoholic drink or just having the motivation to stop drinking earlier on nights out. You are the key to your own success, hypnotherapy is simply an aid helping you to unlock your own potential and pick a much better path forward.
